The Coleambally Motorcycle Club was hosting the third round of the Wanabrook motocross series when a male rider from Uranquinty was flung from his bike over the front handle bar, suffering a suspected spinal injury.
The local Volunteer Rescue Association provided first aid at the time, while paramedics from Hay and Griffith raced to the scene.
Coleambally's paramedics were already transporting another patient from the event who had injured himself in an unrelated incident.
The accident happened towards the end of the event.
Ambulance Duty Operations Manager Markus Zarins said paramedics worked to stabilise the man, while the Toll rescue helicopter was en route to the scene.
"The chopper arrived about 5pm ... the man was sedated and intubated and flown to Sydney in a serious, but stable condition," he said.
"While paramedics were treating him, (the rider) said he couldn't feel anything from the shoulders down."
