PERFECT golf weather greeted players hitting the links for the annual St Vincent De Paul and Friends of Luro charity day.

The event is held to raise vital funds for the two organisations, both of which help those in less fortunate positions.
The proceeds are split between the two groups and put to good use each day.
Friends of Luro secretary/treasurer Eric Hudson declared the day a success.
"Sixty-six players enjoyed perfect golfing weather at the event," he said.

"Rivalry between teams of three created some healthy banter.
"There was also food aplenty with a pre-game tasty soup, sizzling steak sandwich at the barbecue and nibbles during presentation."
St Vincent De Paul will be using its portion of the money raised to help Leeton shire residents struggling to make ends meet, pay bills or those who just need a helping hand.
Friends of Luro will again be using its slice of the funding pie to assist students in East Timor gain education and continue the friendship between Leeton and the Luro community.
As is usually the case, there could only be one winning team on the day, with the honours going to Barry Mannes, John Gavel and Rob Fairweather.
