It has been an up and down period for the Greens. Last weekend they were due to return to the field after a week off for the club bye only to have the Waratah Tigers forfeit.
McGregor had been hoping for a solid hit out in that match, but that wasn't to be.
With the Roosters having not won a game this season, McGregor knows matches against those who are struggling can also be difficult for the teams above them.

"I think you can sometimes be drawn into how they are playing, which is why I always say it's important to just focus on ourselves and not what the other team is doing," he said.
"This weekend I really want the girls to stick to their structure.
"That's going to be crucial for us the weekend after against Yanco and into the next month of finals.
"It's easy in these kind of games (against the Roosters) to go away from the structure, but that's not what we want to be doing."
McGregor will likely have a full playing squad to choose from this week, but will also likely test out players in different positions to usual.
The only possible out may be Gabby McGregor.
"She's under a bit of an injury cloud and I don't really want to risk her against DPC when we've got some big games coming up after that," the coach said.
"She wants to play, but we will see what happens."
Yanco-Wamoon cruising ahead
YANCO-WAMOON picked up a 22-4 win over the Yenda Blueheelers on Sunday to hold onto their top spot on the league tag ladder.
The Hawks remain one point ahead of the Griffith Black and Whites.
This Sunday they return home to face the fifth-placed West Wyalong women, who have been among the improvers this season.
Coach Monique Higgins will be aiming for her charges to pick up the win and play a solid game as they prepare for their rivals in the Leeton Greens the following week.
