LAKE Albert coach Mitch Tinnock has conceded his team is finding it tough to find motivation for the last rounds of the season, but admitted ending Leeton's season would remove a potential danger to their title defence.

The Sharks are still a chance to finish top heading into Sunday's final round clash at Leeton, who likely need to win to secure a top five berth.
Leeton showed how dangerous they can be by beating ladder leaders Hanwood 1-0 last week, and have to repeat the dose against second-placed Lake Albert to guarantee a top five berth.
The minor premiership and who secures fourth and fifth spots will go up for grabs on the last day of the regular season.
Sixth-placed Young (30 points) can apply pressure by beating strugglers South Wagga on Saturday night, before Wagga United (31) and Leeton (31) take on Tolland and the Sharks respectively on Sunday.
Hanwood (36) can secure the minor premiership by beating lowly Tumut, but a slip up would open the door for Lake Albert (36) and Henwood Park (36), who should account for Cootamundra.
A ten-man Leeton kept their hopes alive with last week's road victory over Hanwood, but have been hit by suspensions with defenders Jarred Flynn, Dan McKenzie and Nick Trifogli all set to miss.
Winger James Trevaskis should return for Lake Albert after missing the Wagga United loss, but fellow attacking lynchpins Cam Mavor and Jamie Rankin will be put on ice for finals.
"It does feel a bit like that (lack of motivation). I've been trying to make it not like that and get them fired up," Tinnock said.
"This time of year is always hard, the last couple of weeks where realistically you can't move up the ladder.
"It (Leeton's outs) doesn't really affect things for us, hopefully it will help us a bit but we'll go out there and try and play some good football, and give a couple of guys who don't normally play first grade a chance.
"I'm sure they'll still have a good team on the park regardless, it's basically a must win game for them and they'll be ready to go.
"A win going into finals will be nice but if we don't get that we won't get angry about it."
Asked which team of the three fighting for two finals spots he'd like to miss out, Tinnock nominated Leeton as the biggest threat.
Tinnock conceded Leeton were unlucky to go down 3-2 to the Sharks early in the season.
"If Leeton get their full team on the paddock they're pretty solid," he said.
"I don't really like playing any of them. Young is always difficult to score against, and Wagga United when they play well have got some good players too.
"But overall I'd say Leeton is probably the best when they get their players on the park."
PASCOE CUP STATE OF PLAY BEFORE FINAL ROUND
1. HANWOOD (36 pts, +54)
This week: Tumut
Best finish: First
Worst finish: Third
Predicted finish: First
Hanwood should account for a struggling Tumut coming off a 6-1 loss to Young.
2. LAKE ALBERT (36, +39)
This week: Leeton (a)
Best finish: First
Worst finish: Third
Predicted finish: Third
Can apply pressure on Hanwood for top spot with a win, but need Tumut to spring a huge upset against the Griffith side.
3. HENWOOD PARK (36, +30)
This week: Cootamundra (a)
Best finish: First
Worst finish: Third
Predicted finish: Second
Should easily account for last-placed Cootamundra, but need to win and rely on Hanwood and Lake Albert failing to win to finish top. Highly unlikely.
4. LEETON (31, +27)
This week: Lake Albert (h):
Best finish: Fourth
Worst finish: Sixth
Predicted finish: Sixth
Highly likely they need to win to make finals. Having far more to play for than the Sharks works in their favour, and showed they can be a threat in finals by beating Hanwood 1-0 last week.
5. WAGGA UTD (31, +15)
This week: Tolland (h)
Best finish: Fourth
Worst finish: Sixth
Predicted finish: Fourth
Win against Tolland, and they're in. Lose, and they would need South Wagga to upset Young.
6. YOUNG (30, +20)
This week: Sth Wagga (a)
Best finish: Fourth
Worst finish: Sixth
Predicted finish: Fifth
Can qualify if they beat South Wagga and at least one of Leeton United or Wagga United fail to win. A draw and a Wagga United loss to Tolland is also enough.
