Leeton Cultural Centre has one week left of Underworld: Mugshots of the Roaring Twenties, a Sydney Living Museums travelling exhibition. If you have not yet seen it, head over from 10am-2pm Monday to Friday before it closes on October 18 and heads to Orange.
Funding is available for heritage projects. Leeton council's Local Heritage Fund assists owners and/or lessees of significant land/or heritage building with funding for projects. Grants are available for projects that enhance or restore building facades, or signage. Full details and project applications are available at www.leeton.nsw.gov.au or at Council Office in Chelmsford Place. Applications close October 31.
The Leeton Chill & Grill event is just around the corner, happening Saturday, October 26 from 4- 9pm at the Leeton No.1 Oval's carpark. We've got plenty of foodies coming along, as well as Yenda Beer, our two local wineries and much more.
There will also be live entertainment by Scruffy Monty and Double Shot, plus free jumping castle and face-painting for the kids.
Yanco Powerhouse Museum will be open on Sunday, November 27.
The mini train rides are a major hit with the kids as is the free scavenger hunt for families and groups to enjoy together with their kids when at the museum; no bookings are required. Entry: $5 for adults and $1 for kids aged 6-16.
Whitton Museum is about to benefit from a long-awaited grant funded project. By December 31, two new toilets will be built on the museum grounds. If you've never been to the museum, check it out on the first Saturday and Sunday each month 10-1pm, and Monday-Wednesday 12-2pm; entry is $8 adult and $5 concession.
