LEETON & DISTRICT
Three games of triples were played last Thursday. Lorraine Mullins played an unbelievable shot - her bowl heading out of bounds hit a front bowl and knocked it straight down the centre about 4m, taking the jack and rolling with it, giving her a one-shot lead.
Her moment of glory quickly ended when Patti Wakeman had a brilliant shot to reclaim the end.
Drawn winners were Elaine Sullivan, Hilary Chambers and Belinda Glover. Marika Pete and Joan Lloyd achieved a resting toucher. Marie Odewahn won the tournament raffle and Joan Bourke won the lucky draw.
The opening day for bowls in 2020, played at the Wagga Rules Club, will be held on Tuesday, January 21.
The Central Riverina District Championships will start at the end of January with the fours. A sheet will be on the board this week.
