Carnival manager, Veronica Cudmore, was pleased to see the day pass without too many issues.
"The day went really well," she said.
"We had to cancel competition over here on Thursday with the hot temperatures but thankfully that past before the weekend, so there was no issue on Sunday."
In another pleasing aspect for Cudmore, the number of participants was also on the rise from previous years.
"On last report we had about 194 competitors enter, and I think we had about 174 last year," she said.
"We had people coming from Canberra, Wangaratta, Barooga and all over Victoria."
It was a strong showing from Griffith as a club as they took out 12 age champions while Leeton took out three including an equal age champion in the under 12s and Narrandera were able to pick up two age champions.
It was also a day which saw plenty of new records set.
Griffith's Hugh Kite was able to take over two seconds off the six years boys 200m record with a time of 42.05.
Leslie Ledwich from Griffith had a good day out in the 12 years boys para-athlete category as he set four new records in his category on his way to picking up the age champion.
Leeton's Blake Heath performed strongly in the nine years boys para-athlete category as he walked away with the age champion and four new records to his name.
Ethan Donetto had a strong afternoon on the track as he set two new records. He was able to set a new record in the 200m before knocking over six seconds off the 400m record with a time of 53.43.
In the field categories, Mary Dal Broi was able to set a new record in the 10 years girls high jump while Pheobe White from Coleambally broke the 18 years girls triple jump record which had been standing since 1999.
Cudmore paid credit to everyone who volunteered to help ensure the day ran smoothly.
She also paid credit to their long term supports Fred and Rod McNabb who has sponsored the event since its inception.
"It is lovely that the McNabb family have sponsored us for 50 years," she said.
"I don't think there are too many businesses who could say that they have done that for any organisation."
The athletes will now turn their attention to Western Riverina Zone Championships on December 7.
