Helping to push the organisation along has been the Leeton Pieces and Patches group.
Members of this group recently held their Christmas party, deciding to forego giving each other festive gifts, and instead donating money to the Leeton VRA.
"Rather than sharing presents, each person in the group places money in an envelope and writes the name of a charity they prefer on the front," Pieces and Patches member Alanna Rolfe said.

"This year the VRA envelope was drawn out, so all monies are donated to the first name drawn.
"The VRA has many uses for this money."
Residents in Leeton shire who have a Beyond Bank account have also been doing their part by nominating the VRA squad as its charity through the organisation's community reward account.
The VRA is fundraising to purchase battery-operated rescue equipment.
