Leeton High School has again facilitated a successful WIN program in conjunction with GetSet for 29 year 10 students.
The initiative has been running for many years, according to Leeton High careers advisor Nadine Goring.
"WIN is a workplace-based learning program aimed at students who may not wish to take up tertiary studies at the completion of their schooling," she said.
"It especially targets students who want to acquire a trade, work in retail, hospitality, business administration or similar areas."
As part of the initiative, students receive on-the-job training during their one day at their chosen workplace each week.
In the past the program has assisted with students gaining employment, allowing them to further broaden their skills base and knowledge.
"We had some successful outcomes from the program this year with three students securing apprenticeships and one student gaining a school-based traineeship," Ms Goring said.
