This was no more evident then at the 2019 Leeton Community Christmas Lunch, held on Christmas Day, where families and friends got together to celebrate the festive occasion.
The event is run by volunteers, who serve up a delicious two-course feast every year, with presents, festive decorations, entertainment and even an appearance from Santa Claus himself adding to the fun atmosphere on the day.
The St Peter's Hall was full to the brim on Christmas Day with around 100 people attending and everyone more than happy to share the spirit of December 25 with each other.
The idea was also for those who may have been spending Christmas Day on their own to head along and attend.
Co-organiser of the event Fran Artese was blown away by the support not just on the day, but also in the lead up.
"We had a good day at the lunch ... lots of people were very happy with the food and presents," she said.

"We had lots of generous volunteers that helped out during the day as well."
Those volunteers not only helped to cook the delicious meal, but as anyone knows on Christmas Day - feeding the hordes also requires lots of washing up.
There was no shortage of people on hand to make light work of the chores, with the kitchen the place to be thanks to all of the smiles and laughter.
Fundraising was held in the lead up to the event to ensure costs were covered, but to also purchase presents for nursing homes, Gralee School, the women's shelter in Griffith, those in need and the Forever Johnno Foundation.
According to organisers, those attending the lunch arrived happy, but there's no doubting they left with full hearts and stomachs after participating in such a special event.
