There has been no rest for Leeton's squash players who have only had a short break, with a new competition starting on Thursday, January 2. This is a social and fun competition that is a mixture of singles and doubles matches.

There are two players on each team with both players playing singles matches against their respective opponents and then all four players take to the court for a doubles match. This is a timed competition with all matches lasting 20 minutes.
Dion DeMamiel and Gary Thompson scored a 2-1 win over Col Thompson and Sean Ryan. In the first match, Ryan outplayed Gary Thompson but DeMamiel defeated Col Thompson to leave the teams at one match each. The deciding doubles match was very close with DeMamiel and Gary Thompson winning 29-26.
Miranda Tait and Siarne Deeves were in top form securing a 3-0 victory over Sarah McAliece and John Gown. Marnah Cunningham got her team away to a good start by defeating Katie McAliece but Michael McColl levelled the contest by downing Naomi Rawle.
The doubles match was a cliff-hanger, with McColl and McAliece winning 41-39.
Ruth Tait made a strong return to competition winning a very close match against Kira Brettschneider, 40-37.
As their other team members were unavailable a couple of substitute players were brought in for the doubles match.
Declan Ryan and Tait were too strong for Brettschneider and Will Rawle. Bryan Shepley and Declan Ryan teamed up to play Blayne Thompson and John Gown.
Declan Ryan defeated John Gown and Blayne Thompson was too quick for Bryan Shepley winning 37-35. Ryan and Shepley were victorious in the deciding doubles match. Simone Bruno chalked up a win over Adele Thompson to get her team away to a good start. Narelle Ryan beat Andre Holtzhausen to level the contest at one all. The Ryan and Thompson team won the deciding doubles match.
Will Rawle downed Gary Thompson 40-35 but Brian O'Leary kept his team in it by defeating Col Thompson. The deciding doubles match went to Col Thompson and Will Rawle.
