Leeton Connect was successful with their Expression of Interest submission for these funds.
Now, the next step is for the Leeton not-for-profit organisation to decide how this money will be spent.
To fast track this procedure, FRRR will return on Tuesday, March 31 for two sessions to help the organisations, in conjunction with Leeton, develop a capacity plan which will be a roadmap of how IRCF will work within the Leeton community, what projects will be a priority, and what support is needed to build the capacity of the NFP sector of our local government area.
To give everyone an opportunity to attend there will be two sessions and these will be held at the Leeton Soldiers Club. The first will be from 10am to 12.30pm (lunch will be provided) and the second from 6 to 8pm (finger food will be provided). Bookings will be essential, and further details will be available soon.
These are exciting times for our beautiful town. Local organisations are urged to attend and contribute toward the capacity plan.
Organisations are also encouraged to become a member of Leeton Connect Inc. so they can reap the benefits of being in partnership with Leeton Connect, which include free governance and capacity building training; access to a community register; networking opportunities; support of the Leeton Connect coordinator; Insurance cover and grant funding opportunities. All of this is only $5 per organisation.
This week, the Leeton Connect coordinator, Ryan Scifleet will start contacting local organisations inviting them to become members of Leeton Connect and encourage them to attend one of the upcoming meetings with FRRR.
