The decision to postpone the event was not taken lightly, according to Leeton Arts Society present Jacqui Herrmann.
"On behalf of our members I wish to let you know the Penny Paniz Acquisitive Arts Competition and Exhibition that was to occur at Easter time, is postponed until further notice due to the uncertainty of current affairs," Ms Herrmann said.
The society said they will be letting the community know any further developments regarding the exhibition once they arise.

The event is held every year, but in 2020 was also part of the Leeton SunRice Festival calendar.
In recent years the number of entries have grown as artists continue to grow, develop and hone their extraordinary skills.
The Leeton SunRice Festival has also been officially called off following a meeting of committee members and Leeton Shire Council on Monday.
