Clinics testing for cases of COVID-19 have been established at Griffith Base Hospital and Wagga Wagga Base Hospital, as the district remains without a confirmed case of the virus as of 9am on Thursday.
A statement from the Murrumbidgee Local Health District said more clinics will be opened across the region over the coming weeks.
"The numbers of people meeting the COVID-19 screening requirements in the Murrumbidgee region remains small," the statement read.
A total of 12 people have been tested in Griffith as of March 17, with all tests returning negative, while Wagga has seen 69 tests as of March 17.
MLHD have also established a COVID-19 hotline, where patients can be triaged over the phone if they call 1800 831 099 and if testing is warranted they will be booked into an appointment in a suitable location.
NSW Health is recommending people who are showing acute, cold or flu-like symptoms and are recently returned travellers or have come into contact with a confirmed case be tested for COVID-19.
Samples for testing can be taken directly by GPs or at Griffith Base Hospital, with those who are concerned they may have contracted the disease advised to call HealthDirect on 1800 022 222 or the Murrumbidgee COVID-19 Hotline on 1800 831 099, where patients will be triaged and if testing is warranted, will be booked into an appointment based on location or contact your GP to arrange an appointment, letting them know in advance if you have symptoms.

Symptoms of COVID-19 may include fever, sore throat, cough or a shortness of breath.
MLHD have cautioned people who have cold or flu-like symptoms to avoid visiting vulnerable members of the community, such as those in aged care facilities or hospitals.
Community members are recommended to minimise travel, increase personal awareness of hand hygiene and practice social distancing measures.
As of March 18, there are a total of 267 confirmed cases within NSW.
