After considered discussion with all State and Territory Member Federations, the FFA made the decision to push the extend the temporary ban until May 31.
The current suspension, which applies to all sanctioned matches and competitions, including National Premier Leagues, FFA Cup, Junior and grassroots football, as well as training and associated football-related activities, will be reassessed at the end of the May.
Alampi isn't going to hold his breath that his side will get to kick the ball around at all.
"Maybe we will get a little tournament at the end of the year that will be up to Football Wagga, but I can't see it happening," he said.
"They aren't getting the professional games going so I don't see how they will let the amateur stuff go."
Leeton United had been gearing up for the season which was due to start in early April before the season was originally put on hold until April 14 and Alampi was confident in the side that he would have had at his disposal.
"We had a couple of boys who were playing Rhinos come back and join up, so we had some good young boys coming back into the fold," he said.
"We had a couple of prospective signings ready to announce, but there is no point announcing anything now."
Alampi said that while not being able to play football, there are bigger factors to worry about.
"Not being able to play football is disappointing and it is a big part of our lives," he said.
"I know I love it, and the boys enjoy it, but it has to take a backwards step at this point. I think everyone's focus is just about staying safe and not just with the coronavirus, but I think just as important is everyone's sanity.
"We are still pretty lucky because we still have jobs, but there are guys out there without jobs who have to stay home all day, and mental health is just as important as the coronavirus and is what we need to be concerned about.
"It is disappointing because the boys had put in a good preseason, but there are more important things at the moment."
