The new year got underway with several weather events, including a storm that felled many trees and a grass fire which even had an alert sent out to residents urging them to be aware of the incident.
Harness racing and little athletics were taking place, while the very last "talking Irrigator" was recorded by a group of dedicated residents.
Leeton shire's Australia Day ambassador was also announced, while a project from Leeton Shire Council worked to educate and create awareness around binge drinking.
The Southern Cotton gin was also operating during this time.
