The Hawks had been building towards defending their inaugural premiership when restrictions on group and crowd gatherings were put in place, meaning the Group 20 season was unable to start.
Since then with training suspended and gyms being closed, the side has had to work on their fitness at home.
"I basically just told the girls to do what they could to stay fit," captain-coach Monique Higgins said.
"We don't want to be in a situation where we're coming back to training and having lost all our fitness.
"Hopefully we can get back into it soon.

"I know everyone is really missing it, especially because we should have been playing now."
The league tag side had picked up some new players in their bid to go back-to-back, but the league's best and fairest, a long-running Hawks player in Tess Staines, had moved on.
What a season will now look like is the question on everyone's lips for all levels of the Group 20 competition.
The NSW Rugby League board last week decided to work towards a plan to re-start community football and other abbreviated senior competitions state-wide from July 18, subject to the existing government advice available at the time.
Higgins was hopeful a season plan would soon be revealed by Group 20, pending advice over the coming days.
"Ideally it would be good to play everyone once and then have some sort of finals series," she said.
"I think everyone just wants footy to be back.
"As soon as we're able to, we'll be getting back together and going straight into training and focusing on game-play to get back into it.
"Everyone is in the same boat ... we'll just need to work out a game plan once we know a bit more and go from there."
Higgins said with the NRL focusing on their return at the end of the month, it did give confidence to clubs at the grassroots level.
"I think that's given people a lot of confidence that we will be able to have some sort of season here," she said.
