In 2014 there were many familiar faces taking to the ground.
Here's how The Irrigator reported on an under 18s pre-season match from that year:
Halden challenges Greens
LEETON has taken out the 2014 Paul Kelly Memorial Knockout under 18s title, downing Bidgeee Hurricanes 18-8 in last Saturday's final.
It could be that more than a pre-season title is on offer for the under 18s Greens with a ticket to the big time the pot of gold at the end of the season's rainbow.
Coach Clint Halden has challenged his side to back up last Saturday's triumph with a strong season and give him enough reason to tap into his NRL contacts and set them up with trials at top-line clubs.
Leeton beat Yenda in the semi-final and then toppled last year's grand finalist in the decider, but the result came as little surprise to Halden.
"I'm doing my part with my connections, trying to get a few recruitment guys to have a look at our club and whoever else," said Halden.

"I've made a few phone calls and if they boys play well enough, they could be a chance to go a bit further with their footy.
"They've set the standard now. They've got to raise it to the next level, basically, if they want to be successful again this year.
"All these teams will be wanting to beat them, so it's up to them now."
Captain Tereapii Nikoro scored two tries in the final and led the way, with brother Josh and front-rower Rhys Wilesmith among the team's best on the day.
That trio has already experienced first-grade action in the pre-season and they can expect more of it in the season proper as Leeton looks to the future.
"They've had a good taste of that," Halden said.
Halden praised Leeton for "showing ticker" as they came from behind to defeat the Hurricanes after overcoming Yenda earlier in the day.
