The pair took over the running of Hotel Leeton in November 2019, coming into what is traditionally one of the busiest times of the year.
Trent already had experience in operating a pub as he is the licensee at the Yanco Hotel.
However, when the pandemic hit, everything they thought they knew about running a pub was turned on its head.
Like many other hospitality businesses, the brother and sister duo took it in their stride.

They made plans with their staff and ensured the kitchen was still operational throughout for both takeaways and deliveries to ensure the Hotel Leeton could still be in people's homes in one way or another.
There were many special deals and delicious meals to be had and now the turnaround begins as restrictions continue to be eased.
The majority of their staff have been retained as a result.
Most of their employees use their position at the Hotel Leeton as a second job and are excited to be getting back to work.
"We're starting to get back on track now ... it's definitely not like how it was before, but we're getting there," Trent said.
"We're adhering to all of the appropriate restrictions that are currently in place at the moment.
"Hopefully people keep coming through the doors for a meal or a drink to support us."
The pub has also completed some small renovation work in recent weeks, upgrading its kitchen, as well as introducing a VIP room.
"We've been lucky that we've got the space here to have people set out how they need to be at the moment," Hannah said.
"Everyone has been really good.
"They are following the rules when they come in.
"We're really grateful for everyone's support.
"People have supported us the whole time."
The pub hopes to have operations completely back to normal by Christmas, but that will of course be determined by the state government.
Hotel Leeton is also a major sponsor of several sporting organisations, as well as a regular contributor to community groups and charities.
Those wanting to ensure the business remains viable now and into the future to ensure this support can continue just need to head in and spend their money.
The pub is the perfect spot for a catch up with family and friends and is a warm haven during the cooler months.
There's regular sport on the big screens being displayed and great food to be enjoyed.
Bookings for groups are preferred, with the takeaway service also continuing.
