The women's side was able to resume full contact training on Thursday night, which was a relief for both players and coach Stuart Stout.
Since training was able to return contact hadn't been allowed, so the focus was mostly on fitness and ball skills.
With the season start date now locked in for the Dianas, the focus on the physicality of the game will come into play.
"It's a quick turnaround now with being able to have contact training and our first game in a few weeks time," Stout said.
"That's what we are going to need to focus on.

"Usually when you start a season you're a bit sluggish, but if you drop a couple of games, you have the time to make it back up.
"This year we obviously don't have that luxury. We're only playing six games and then hopefully finals."
The Dianas are back to training twice a week on Tuesday and Thursday nights.
There has been a slight drop in numbers, with some players unable to commit to the shortened season.
However, Stout said this was an opportunity for new players to try out the sport.
"With there being no league tag this year, this is a good chance for some of those girls to maybe come across and try out women's rugby union," he said.
"There's still plenty of time. Just come along to training and see what it is all about.
"Our numbers are still reasonable, but we could always do with a few more if anyone is interested."
The Dianas will be joined this year by a men's second grade Phantoms side in the Southern Inland Rugby Union competition.
With the two sides both playing at home during rounds one and two of the competition, there's never been a better time to support the club.
Supporters will be allowed to attend and a canteen will be operational. Social distancing will need to be followed.
The Leeton sides will play their first matches of the season in Leeton on July 25 against the CSU Reddies followed by Wagga City on August 1.
