Farewell to a friend heading off
Leeton Soldiers women bowlers recently fareweled a stalwart of the club in Marie Stiller.
Stiller is leaving Leeton to move to Temora.
She first started her bowls career in Whitton and, on moving into town, joined the Leeton Soldiers Women's Bowling Club.
Stiller has been a winner of the Leeton Soldiers Club singles championships a massive five times during this period.
She also represented the club at a state level, being the skip of the winning team at state in 2001 for the fours championships.

Cheers and streamers met this team on their arrival home with the state flag.
Known to be unflappable at all times, Stiller has led her team to many victories, including president days, Murrumbidgee District Pennants, and the Towning Shield.
She has also been a member of the match committee and helped out on the catering side in the days when home-cooked cakes and sandwiches were permitted on tournament days.
The club will miss her sunny nature and wish her many happy days ahead.
Cool weather greets players on the greens
MEMBERS braved the fog and cold to play on the greens at the Leeton Soldiers Club last Wednesday.
By 11am the sun came out and players enjoyed their games.
Winners on the day were Colleen Harrison, Barbara Gullotta and Margaret McKenzie.
Runners-up were Val Bloem and Ann Chant.
Due to the cold weather, bowls will start at 10:30am next week and will be followed by lunch in the bistro.
