In what was Leeton's first away game of the season, the road trip didn't bother the team, who came away with a 57-12 win over the host side.
Played on a wet field thanks to rain from the previous 24 hours, the Phantoms blitzed their Deniliquin opposition and were about 30 points up within the first 25 minutes.
This led the side to reassess at half-time, taking off their regular first grade players to give others a chance at playing some decent game time.
"We did make a lot of changes on Saturday throughout the game, but what was most pleasing was everyone was able to adapt and still play well," Phantoms club president John Hill said.

"We wanted to go out hard and physical at the start, which we managed to do, so that was great.
"It was good to be able to give guys who haven't had much game time in the last couple of weeks a bit more of a run.
"There was a bit of disruption given the amount of players we put on, but we were still able to score and point more points on, so that's great.
"Everyone played as a team."
The Phantoms have proven they are one of the teams to be in the second grade competition, but the side isn't getting ahead of itself.
Another positive from the weekend was there were no injuries to come from the match.
Hill said among the top performers on the weekend were Eugene Kohdre, Vereniki Qiodravu, Rory Walsh and Will Price.
"The last two are a couple of young guys from out at Yanco Ag who are only 17 coming through ... they played really well," Hill said.
"We'll be back to training this week and getting ready for Wagga Waratahs this weekend, which will be another tough game for us."
The Dianas were also able to record a victory on the weekend - their first of the 2020 season.
The women's side accounted for the Hay Cutlets 17-7.
