A letter to the editor in The Irrigator from resident Jenny Brumfield generated plenty of discussion about the rotunda, which is set to be removed from Chelmsford Place.
Mrs Brumfield was concerned many hours of hard work would be lost and a community space gone forever.
However, Leeton Shire Council has confirmed the town's two Rotary clubs have agreed to remove the rotunda as part of enhancement plans for the area. Council general manager Jackie Kruger said the purpose of the enhancement project in Chelmsford Place was to create a more "attractive, integrated and vibrant setting".
"The Leeton Rotary Club, who originally funded the rotunda, is agreeable to the rotunda's removal and will undertake the works themselves," she said.

"Rotary will be repurposing the rotunda for another great community outcome in Leeton shire.
"There were multiple opportunities for stakeholder and community engagement prior to and during the development of the concept plans and after the draft plans were released."
The Rotary rotunda is not to be confused with the historic band rotunda, which will remain.
Council has been able to access funding from various areas, including most recently from the Drought Communities Extension Program and Stronger Country Communities for the Chelmsford Place enhancement work.
"The development of this detailed plan for the renewal of Chelmsford Place is aiming to improve the amenity and place for the community of Leeton shire, making Chelmsford Place a vibrant greenspace," director of operations Peter Keane said.
"The detailed plan will incorporate locally-listed heritage elements such as the existing band rotunda.
"We are anticipating to commence works as soon as possible in 2020 ... however further community consultation needs to be undertaken and council approval gained in support of the proposed renewal works before any works will commence."
