First up, and without a trial, from an unplaced effort in the group one Bathurst Gold Crown in March, the two-year-old put on a dazzling display.
Crossing to the front from barrier five, Rocknroll Runa ($4.40) reeled off three sub 29 second quarters to clock a mile rate of 1:56.0 to win by 9.8 metres.
Reinsman Jackson Painting was thrilled with his performance.
"I said to the boys the other week I think he could be something really special and he done that today without a trial and done it really well," Painting said.
"There is only bigger and better things for him."
The time was half a second outside of Three Summas' overall track record.
Rocknroll Runa, the first foal of NSW Oaks winner Shes A Runa, has now won three of his five starts.
Neil Day made an early move with Dance Away ($6), who finished second, and applied plenty of pressure.
Painting thought it actually helped Rocknroll Runa switch on.
"He got a little bit lost out in front but when the other thing got outside him and to his neck he really switched on and wanted to race it," he said.
"He ran away from them, which is really good, as at home he doesn't like running away from them."
Painting believes he's really improved from a spell and hopes he can continue to in the group one series.
"In the Bathurst Crown he done it wrong at the start and then just panicked up the sprint lane but I reckon he was still going to run into the money," he said.
"We knew he was going to have the potential but he's come back in a better horse at this stage. The sky is the limit with him."
The victory ensures him a place in the semi-finals at Menangle on October 10.
It was part of a big day for Painting and Euroley trainer David Kennedy, who combined for three wins with Deekays Major and London Lady. Painting also scored with Noel Maxwell's $41 chance White Pointer to equal a career best four wins.
