This year's concert element to the Light Up Leeton event won't be going ahead as it usually attracts hundreds of people to one small area.
However, the committee is looking at what else it could possibly do in its place, but the main premise around Light Up Leeton is still going ahead.
"We really want to try and get more people lighting up their homes this year," Light Up Leeton chairman Carl King said.
"That's what the focus is going to be. If we can have as many homes as possible with lights this year, I think it's really going to show our community has something to celebrate and that we can all still come together for something happy.
"It can be a string of lights, but if everyone has something, it really does make the town look amazing."
One idea is to have the Lions train trekking around town to different areas on some evenings with Santa on board to hand out lollies to families.
"We haven't gotten into full meeting mode yet, but we're looking at what we can do," Mr King said.
"We want to make sure the kids aren't forgotten.
"Who knows what other ideas we might come up with in between now and the start of December."
Rotary would also still like to hold its annual hams raffle, so a workaround is currently being figured out to do so.
