Residents at Leeton's Southern Cross Care Assumption Villa have been working to do just that, particularly following the cancellation of the town's agricultural show.
The COVID-19 restrictions have been encouraging Leeton's aged care residents to look for creative ways of spending quality time together.
Due to the cancellation of the Leeton Show, the show society invited the community to create a "No Show Scarecrow" buddy to display along the Acacia Avenue fence of the showground.

As a result, the residents of Assumption Villa were inspired to create their own mother and baby scarecrows, with a variety of materials.
The scarecrow came to life over a few weeks with residents encouraged to participate with the help of the Southern Cross Care lifestyle team.
Southern Cross Care facility manager Michelle Bullock said it had been a fun process for all involved.
"The residents really got involved and made it their own little project," she said.
"There were a lot of creative minds contributing to the job at hand and I think they are all very proud of their efforts."
The lifestyle team has been busy keeping residents entertained and happy, especially over the past few months during COVID-19 restrictions.
"I have a great team here and we all know the importance of our resident's wellbeing," Ms Bullock said.
"These types of activities are very important to keep the mind and body in good shape."
