The group has shown this in a big way recently when they heard of the plight of the Mission for Seafarers.
This group operates around Australian ports and was calling for care packs, including for beanies, to be delivered to seamen stranded off shore during the COVID-19 crisis.
"We decided to develop a 'COVID corner'," Leeton Inner Wheel publicity officer Robyn Currie said.
"(It was decided to) knit beanies for the seamen who brave the icy winds while aboard container ships, but are unable to leave the ship.
MORE NEWS:
"The beanies and supplies are helicoptered out to the ships. Great for them, and great for us, to give our brains and fingers a work-out for a good cause."
This initiative has formed part of Leeton Inner Wheel's community service this yearn as it was unable to complete its usual Meals on Wheels or coffee shop at the villa activities.
Inner Wheel fundraises on three levels - local, national and international, but COVID has impacted these activities.
"So, while we wait, we knit," Mrs Currie said.
Inner Wheel is an international women's organisation, with clubs in over 100 countries.
New members are always welcome.
The Leeton group meets on the second Tuesday of each month at 7.30pm at the shire library and hopes to be back into the swing of things soon.
