This holiday season, the Leeton Rapid Relief Team (RRT) will be bringing Christmas cheer to families in need by delivering a special edition of the RRT food box.
In the spirit of giving, RRT volunteers around the globe will hit the streets from mid-November to the end of December to deliver a special Christmas edition of the RRT food box.
These boxes will be filled with Christmas treats, and ingredients to put Christmas dinner on the table.
There is no doubt 020 has been a year like no other and COVID-19 restrictions have limited RRT volunteers from serving people face-to-face.
But it is through small acts of kindness, such as the delivery of a food box, that lets people know that even in the toughest time, they're not alone, and that they are cared for.
MORE NEWS:
A small stock of food boxes will be held at the Leeton Community Op Shop in Pine Avenue.
For urgent assistance please reach out to the team on 6953 5664 or after hours contact Kim or Karen via the Ngumbaay Leeton Facebook page.
RRT hopes this small gesture brings families together for Christmas and reminds them that it's not what's under the tree that matters, but who is around it.
A testimonial from a recipient:
"As soon as I opened the food box, I smiled.
"That gave me hope and strength to survive in a time like this.
"I am very grateful for your help and really happy to get help in time of need. I thank everyone from the bottom of my heart".
