While there's no doubting a healthy and balanced diet should definitely consider throughout the current festive period, there is a small comfort in those who want to indulge in what is always a crowd favourite among Leeton shire residents.
The Lions Club of Leeton is testament to this fact and, despite the challenges of the year, is still selling its delicious Lions Christmas cakes.
Every year these cakes sell out in town quickly as residents seek to snap up one for their Christmas lunch or dinner without the hassle of having to cook one up for themselves.

The best part is not only does it taste "just like nan used to make", but the money from sales of these cakes goes towards the Lions Club's many and varied programs that assist members of the community from all walks of life.
Lions Club of Leeton president Frank Pirrottina said residents needed to get in quick to purchase the cakes as COVID-19 restrictions had affected the number of outlets who could display and sell the Christmas must-have.
"You can still purchase cakes from Beyond Bank, Broso's Farmland and Lanham's Motors if you wish to support Lions this Christmas," he said.
The traditional Christmas cake is available in a couple of different sizes with the sky the limit when it comes to decorating or just leaving how it is to enjoy with a side of ice cream or custard.
