Late last month Leeton Shire Council trialled a free bus service to the Whitton pool when weekend temperatures were more than 40 degrees.
"We only gave people less than 24 hours notice, but the initiative was well received," general manager Jackie Kruger said.
"There were seven people on the bus there and 10 on the way back that first time, but they were thrilled with the opportunity.

"The children had big smiles on their faces at being able to go and swim."
The Leeton pool redevelopment work has been delayed, with council pushing back the opening date to the end of January.
However, that has meant residents have limited options when it comes to cooling off on extremely hot days.
Last year once the temperature reached a certain level, council opened up the Leeton pool for free entry to the community.
This bus service to Whitton will continue and aims to give people the opportunity to swim in a safe manner.
"When people have more notice, there will probably be increased uptake," Mrs Kruger said.
For Saturdays and Sundays when the temperature is 38 and over degrees and over the free bus to Whitton will run, with various pick up and return points, including Yanco, Leeton, Parkview and Wattle Hill.
The free bus service will also operate on New Year's Day and Australia Day.
