Having been limited in what the group could and couldn't do in 2020, escaping Leeton (and mum and dad) for the weekend meant excitement levels were on overload as the contingent made its way to the great outdoors.
The idea was to ascend to the summit of Mount Kosciuszko by all means possible in the Australian Alps.
The first stop was at the old gold mine of Adelong where a quick swim was in order on a 40 degree day.
Early evening had the group ensconced at its campsite in Jindabyne, enjoying a hearty meal in preparation for the long day ahead.
A breakfast of champions the next day had the group fuelled and ready to go with the chairlift giving the Scouts a head start on the mountain.
Eventually, the group made it to the summit and enjoyed lunch complete with a million-dollar view and snowball fights.
"Returning at a brisker pace due to gravity, we were just in time to reward our trek with rides on the Thredbo Bobsled, which was great fun for all," 1st Leeton Scout Group's Adrian van Werven said.
"Before breaking camp (on the Sunday), the Scouts prepared and enjoyed a Canadian breakfast.
"Mid-morning saw us taking our leave of Jindabyne, stopping at the Yarrongobilly Thermal Pool for lunch and a swim."
The weekend was rounded out with a stop in Wagga before home time.
Mr van Werven said 2020 had been a different year for the group.

"That said, we finally came out on a high with us gaining the top of Australia," he said.
"We hope you and yours have a safe and happy Christmas and that 2021 is somewhat kinder to us all.
"Merry Christmas from 1st Leeton Scout Group."
