Sunrice have released a modern slavery statement, a plan of attack to find and eradicate slavery in their international supply chains.
Gogeldrie rice grower Gillian Kirkup said it was an important cause for Riverina farmers, who said they wanted to protect the rights of their overseas counterparts.
"Riverina rice farmers are world leaders in not only farming methods but also utilising best practice initiatives. We are committed to working with SunRice to ensure we support the company in the eradication of modern slavery," Mrs Kirkup said.

The modern slavery statement is a multi-part plan, which involves putting in place whistleblower protections for those who discover worker exploitation.
The growers have also done a comprehensive mapping of their international supply chain, searching for exploitative practices in the system.
SunRice chief executive Rob Gordon said it was a complicated and ongoing undertaking, but one that was worthwhile.
"Our commitment to respecting human rights and working towards eradication of modern slavery-like practices requires ongoing and increased focus and action," Mr Gordon said.
"No individual company or sector can successfully address these issues alone, which is why we will continue to work with our suppliers and other stakeholders to create positive change."
