As part of the shire's annual Australia Day ceremony, 15 residents from a diverse range of backgrounds and nationalities were formally made citizens.
The ages were also vast, but what each of the individuals had in common was the big smiles lining each of their faces once the ceremony was complete.
Led by mayor Paul Maytom, who is an active advocate for migrants, refugees and welcoming people of all backgrounds to the shire, the citizenship ceremony was the final formality for the group when it comes to becoming an official citizen.
"They have chosen today as the day to join us in the common bond of Australian citizenship," councillor Maytom said.
"Congratulations on all of you on your decision to become an Australian citizen.
"A decision not only welcomed by me and those here today, but by all Australians.
"Citizenship is a common bond which unites all Australians, whether they are Australia's traditional inhabitants, first generation migrants or descendants of earlier settlers.
"Our rich heritage stems from contributions made by us all." The new citizens took the time to soak in the moment with their friends and families at the conclusion of the official event.
