With the greens being out of action at the Soldiers Club, the ladies at the Leeton and District Bowling Club invited their neighbours to join them for some social bowls on Thursday.
The extra players enabled the group to play three games of triples and one game of pairs. Janet Bell, Dian Colyer and Jeanie Plant were the drawn winners.
Bell took a strong lead and, after winning 10 of the 15 ends played, defeated Judy Heness, Jan Munro and Jan Carroll.
Joan Lloyd, Laurel Cox and Joan Bourke defeated Jan Walker, Jeanie Leighton (who scored a resting toucher) and Bourke, playing a double lead.
IN OTHER NEWS:
Walker held the lead by five shots on the 12th end, but Lloyd after winning the next five ends, won the match by one.
Dot Semmler, Faye Harris and Margaret McKenzie proved to be too strong of a team against Patti Wakeman, Hilary Chambers and Shirley Tyack.
Semmler took the lead early and held it throughout the match.
In a close game of pairs Elaine Sullivan and Lorraine Messner defeated Denise Naylor and Jan Fitzpatrick.
With the lead changing and, only a couple of shots the difference, the score was even on the 13th end.
Sullivan managed to win five of the next eight ends and won by three shots.
