The sides will battle it out in the curtain-raiser for the Group 20 Invitational and South Sydney game, and there will be significant silverware on the line with the Roger Penrith Memorial Shield.
George Broome will lead the Indigenous side and said his side would be using the significance of the shield to motivate their performance.
"In general the significance of the day and the game itself, we want to do it for the community and for Roger's family," he said.
"We have a few older heads in the team in the forward pack, and they have been around for a while."
Broome feels that this trophy could become a regular event as a pre-season game and hopes it does continue past this year.
"It has been thrown around a bit, but it would be good to keep it around just to kick start a season," he said.
"It would be good to be able to keep the Roger Penrith Memorial Shield going."
With the lack of footy around the area for the last 12 months, Broome said his side are just looking forward to getting back on the park.
"We are looking forward to the run and just to have a bit of fun as well," he said.
"There are a few boys who haven't had a run for a year because of COVID so to get things back in the swing and get country footy happening again and get that love for footy again."
The curtain raiser will kick off at 5pm on Saturday following the women's tackle game.
