Four members of the Isolated Children's Parents' Association Rankins Springs branch recently headed to Hay for the 49th annual conference of the organisation.
Motions and reports were presented across all portfolio areas, including early childhood, rural schools, travel, boarding schools/agricultural high schools and hostels, health and wellbeing.
IN OTHER NEWS:
Issues were also raised when it came to distance education, tertiary communications, allowances and special education.
All passed motions within these categories will now be taken to the relevant federal and state government departments and agencies during annual deputations.
Following the cancellation of the annual conference last year due to COVID-19, branch members appreciated coming together once again this year to not only discuss the vital issues, but also enjoy the networking and advocating opportunities on behalf of rural and remote families.
ICPA NSW state councillors and members said they continue to strive for an equitable access to education so that families will not be disadvantaged regardless of where they live.
The 50th annual conference will be held in Bourke next year, which is the birthplace of ICPA, on March 30 and 31.
