Leeton's basketballers also continuing to play well in 2021 Western Junior League competition

Both teams remain undefeated following the recent round two event.

The Leeton Basketball Association is also celebrating after many players were selected in the Southern Sports Academy.

There were: Solomon Lui, Ethan McDonald, Sebastian Rees, Cruz Wallace (under 14s) and Amelia Irvin, Taj Lepper, Tallis McMillian, Calan Nicholls, Brooklyn O'Callaghan, Kobe O'Callaghan and James Rourke (under 16s).

The academy is recognized locally and state-wide as an industry leader of pre-elite sports development programs providing pathways for athletes and coaches to achieve elite level performance and become future leaders of the community.

Within each sport program a number of athletes are awarded academy scholarships on an annual basis.

These scholarships allow each athlete to participate in the academy's programs, by giving them access to specialized workshops in sports' specific technique and skill training, athletic development, sports technology, sports medicine, sports psychology, sports nutrition amd personal development.
