Coach Frank Alampi feels that the hunger of the squad is strong heading into the first game.
"Spirits have been good, and the boys are training well," he said.
"We should be right. We have most of our boys back, but we do have a few that have left us, and we might have one more that might as well.
"From last year's squad, I think we have lost eight guys, but we have picked up a few, but we will see how it goes."
With the strong turnover of players, Alampi feels it could be a chance for some of the reserve grade players to make a push for a first-grade spot but knows that is a bit of a double-edged sword.
"We have had really good ressies the last two years, they probably should have won a competition, and they push the guys above them," he said.
"When you don't have that, it is difficult."

Given the season only finished at the end of October, Alampi admitted the short turnaround between seasons may have a bit of an impact on the side but could see his troops are keen to get back out there.
"That was an issue for me because I only said yes probably a month and a half ago because I was going to take a break," he said.
"Even though it was only a short season 12 or 13 games that we played, it was a massive season, and we didn't finish until November.
"We usually get three to four months off but only really got one and a half, but that comes with being successful, I suppose."
Alampi feels that another key to the season will to not dwell on the success that the side had last season.
"We are the premiers, and we worked a long time as a club for that, but we have to move on now focus on this year," he said.
The clash between Leeton and Tolland will get underway at 3.20pm on Sunday at the Mia Club.
