THE AFL Riverina tribunal will sit for the first time since 2019 on Thursday night after Wagga Tigers opted to cite Leeton-Whitton player Lindsay Fysh for an incident that left Tigers leader Lahn Shepherd with a fractured cheekbone.

The incident occurred late in the Tigers' 37-point round one road win over the Crows, with Shepherd expected to miss several weeks.
It is understood Shepherd copped a knock to his face attempting to separate a minor scuffle around midway through the final term.

"It's very frustrating," Shepherd said.
"I'm waiting to hear back from the surgeon in Canberra on whether I'll need surgery, but it'll probably be a minimum of six weeks (out) I reckon."
The Tigers host Mangoplah-Cookardinia United Eastlakes in the game of the round on Saturday, while Leeton-Whitton takes on Griffith.
