The Third graders decided to play a trial game against the Blacks, who also had the bye, with the Griffith side coming away with a 22-10 victory.
After picking up their first win of the season in the competition last time out against the CSU Reddies side, they will be looking to carry that momentum into their clash with Waratahs this weekend.
The Wagga side is sitting just ahead of the Phantoms on the ladder, so the winner this weekend would take second place.

Meanwhile, the Dianas will have their work cut out for them as they look to take their first win of the season.
That won't be an easy task up against a Waratahs side who have only lost one game so far this season and will be full of confidence heading into the clash following a 79-7 win over Hay last weekend.
The action will get underway with the third graders taking to the field at 1.30pm.
