The plating will occur at the Narrandera Wetlands on May 30, starting from 9am.
The wetlands were originally established between 2005 and 2006 to filter Narranderas stormwater before it enters the river but are now an important habitat for a large range of birds, as well as being a scenic walk and handy educational resource.
Glenn Currie from Narrandera Landcare said that the trees and shrubs from previous plantings are doing well, dropping seed and regenerating themselves.
"So this planting will see us concentrate on the mid storey and ground layer plants with the goal of adding to the biodiversity of the site," Mr Currie said.
This biodiversity will be created through the addition on shrubs, forbs and grasses to the site.
A combined propagation effort by the Murrumbidgee Field Naturalists and Narrandera Landcare since August 2020 will now also be rewarded with an expected 1500 seedlings ready to go for the planting ceremony in May.

Whilst the official date for National Tree Day August 1, Mr Currie said that; "planting at this time of the year gives more time to the seedlings to establish a bit before the brunt of winter hits."
This will ensure a better survival rate for the seedlings.
To further celebrate National Tree Day, Narrandera Landcare will also be running educational sessions during the last week of May to educate students on the importance of biodiversity.
Gloves, tools and equipment for planting will be provided on the day and volunteers will be able to enjoy pizza from Narrandera Pizzeria as a thankyou for their efforts.
"Three local schools are helping plant in the week leading up to the day, and we hope the community will come down on Sunday and give a hand," Mr Currie said.
The planting is sponsored by Leeton Toyota.
