Local farmers will donate lambs to be included in the auction to meat companies and abattoirs across NSW who pay a premium to support the occasion.
This year is the eighth year the auction has taken place, and organisers hope to make it the biggest year yet with approximately 50 lambs being pledged by farmers to the auction so far.
Tim Hutchinson from Breed and Hutchinson said that the funds will be used to provide much needed financial assistance to those undergoing treatment for their breast cancer, which is almost always in Wagga.
"This will be through funding transport, accommodation and any other costs that arise during the treatment of the cancer that the patient and their families need financial assistance for," Mr Hutchinson said.

Auctioneer Callum Stewart said that buyers at the auction are more than happy to pay a premium on the lamb as it is for a good cause.
"Farmers and buyers alike are very generous and put their best foot forward," Mr Stewart said.
"We know plenty of people affected by breast cancer in the local community so it is good to give back."
Laney Lashbrook founded the Leeton Breast Cancer Support Group in 2001 and said that it was wonderful to see how much the auction has grown from two farmers a few years ago to the amount of farmers wanting to get involved today.
"It is all just so wonderful and generous of everyone involved" Mrs Lashbrook said.
"100 per cent of the proceeds will go to Can Assist Leeton who will then disseminate the funds to those needing some financial assistance."
The cut off for donations will be on the morning of the auction which starts at 9am on May 28.
For those unable to donate a lamb, financial donations are still welcome and can be facilitated by Breed and Hutchinson in Leeton who are located on Pine Avenue.
