Leeton took to the field optimistic if they worked well together as a team, they could open up many opportunities for the side.
The Ladies dominate South Wagga with their possession of the ball in the first half and their display of consistency in running through channels created between Leeton players.
Charlie Lamont used their constructive play to her advantage and took a shot at the goal when she saw an opening, only to be deflected by the keeper into the path of Leeton's Breanna Twigg, who took the score to 1-1 in the first half of the game. Lamont was penalised five minutes later for pushing an opponent; this gave South Wagga another opening on Leeton goals, however, the shot was saved effortlessly by Leeton keeper Katie Burley. Burley worked hard for the side all game.
The Ladies played well in the second half against conditions of strong wind and freezing cold weather, however they missed several opportunities in defence at the front of the goals. This allowed South Wagga to put away another two goals and take the end score of the game to 3-1.
Players player was awarded to Katie Burley for her diligence in goals, saving two penalties amongst other saves against South Wagga. Sally Cassilles and Paula Bocca worked hard for the side all game.
Leeton Ladies head to Wagga next week to take on 2020 premier side Hanwood.
