The Helping Learner Drivers Become Safer Drivers session hopes to educate attendees and provide practical advice on how to implement practical and safe driving practices for learner drivers.
"Parents and supervisors play a vital role in advising and supporting novice drivers and this free workshop will better prepare them for this role," Leeton Shire Council's road safety officer Stephanie Puntoriero said.
According to council, over the past five years more than 30 per cent of all drivers involved in crashes across the Leeton Shire were under the age of 25.
Data also indicates that there has been a significant spike in crash involvement for P1 drivers in the first six months of unsupervised driving with these drivers being eight times more likely to be involved in a crash within one month of getting their P1 license.
