Ngumbaay and Leeton Community Care distribute food and necessities to those in need around Leeton and the surrounding areas.
The club was inspired to elect the Ngumbaay group as this year's charity when they were invited to help out in the pre-season. As part of their pre-season training, they attended Ngumbaay's Saturday morning sessions, playing matches with local children.
Club president John Hill said that the charity sessions were good for the club and the charities.
"Each year for the last five or six, we've done a charity round where all the funds raised go towards a local charity ... we get separately designed jerseys for the day and then we sell those jerseys off as well as donating the takings at the door. It's always a local group as well."

Past charities that the Phantoms have supported include CanAssist, breast cancer support groups and the local Fijian community after recent floods.
Mr Hill said that while all groups were deserving, the hours and time that the club spent with the Ngumbaay group and Leeton Community Care made the charity event especially good this year.
"If you look at what they actually do and what goes on, they do an incredible amount of work and give an incredible amount of support."
He continued and said that the $2859 donated was good, but sat around the average that they donated each year to different group.
