In the past week there have again been many changes to this process and who is now eligible to receive the AstraZeneca vaccine.
With advice continuing to change on the vaccine rollout, particularly around AstraZeneca, many residents are confused as to what they should be doing.
Christine Wallace is a registered nurse with the Leeton Medical Centre and she believes those eligible for the vaccine should be making sure they roll up their sleeve.
"Initially when we started the over 70s and 80s rollout, we were going along alright, but then it slowed down," she said.
IN OTHER NEWS:
"Then the advice and ages changed. People with chronic conditions and essential workers, we were doing them.
"It's the constant changes in advice that leave people more and more skeptical and more and more frightened.
"But they don't need to be. We all know about the rare blood clots. But even if these do occur, they are highly treatable."
Many Leeton shire residents have been calling or heading into medical practices in the shire to inquiry about the vaccine and this is something Mrs Wallace encourages.
She wants the community to be informed with the correct information.
In the past week, the federal government has also announced anyone aged 18 to 59 can now receive the AstraZeneca vaccine, but the advice remains to have a chat with a general practitioner first to see what options are best for each individual.
"If you're not sure, come and talk to us - that is what we are hear for," Mrs Wallace said.
"Your doctor knows you best. If they have any doubts, they will tell you. There's a lot of misinformation out there."
The medical centre is continuing on with its vaccine clinics and hopes demand does rise once again.
"We don't want people to be frightened about this," Mrs Wallace said.
"Even those who say 'oh I don't go anywhere, so I don't need it', that's not true. We all have a part to play."
