On Friday, July 16 a 19-year-old man was stopped by police in Pine Avenue just before 11.30pm when they noticed he was driving without his headlights on.
The P2 licence holder was breath tested by police, with a positive result allegedly being returned. The man was arrested and taken to the Leeton police station for a further analysis.
This sample allegedly gave a high-range reading of 0.166, with the man's licence immediately suspended.
P-plate licence holders are required to have a blood alcohol content of zero when they are behind the wheel.
The 19-year-old was charged with high-range drink driving and was issued with a court attendance notice.

Meanwhile, a 21-year-old man is recovering from minor injuries after a single-vehicle accident on Corbie Hill Road around 12.05am on Sunday, July 18.
Police said the driver appeared to have lost control of the vehicle, crossing to the wrong side of the road before crashing into a power pole.
Emergency services from Leeton shire were called, with the man taken to Leeton District Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
Police investigations into the accident are continuing, with officers reporting the damage to the man's vehicle was extensive.
