Playing strongly, Val Bloem and Laurel Cox took the lead against Barbara Gullotta and Betty Howard.
However, by the 10th end, Gullotta and Howard drew within one shot.
Bloem and Cox held their form to win the 18 ends by two shots.
The other pairs game had Jan Munro and Margaret McKenzie take an early lead, with Jeanie Plant and Lee Noble playing well to draw eight-all on the 10th end.
Strong play by McKenzie and Munro saw them forge ahead to a comfortable win.
Drawn winners for the day were McKenzie and Munro. The ladies hope for another sunny day this week.
Meanwhile, seven teams competed in the first round of the pairs championship on Thursday at the Leeton and District Bowling Club.
Joan Lloyd and Jan Walker had a successful win against Lorraine Mullins and Patti Wakeman.
Lloyd and Walker only allowed Mullins and Wakeman to win five of the 16 ends played, when Mullins declared.
In a close game Janet Bell and Faye Harris defeated Elaine Sullivan and Judy Heness by one shot.
Bell and Harris gained the lead early and managed to hold the lead throughout the match.
IN OTHER NEWS:
In the other game of pairs Hilary Chambers and Mary Payten stormed ahead for the first nine ends leading 15-3, but Lorraine Messner and Jean Leighton turned the game around.
After winning five shots on the 12th end, they gradually closed the gap to only one shot, with one end to play.
Chambers won four shots on the last end, winning the match by five.
Denise Naylor and Marika Pete had a bye.
Eight social players played two games of pairs on the day.
Joan Bourke and Pete were the drawn winners on the day after defeating Denise Naylor and Gill Beer 15-10.
Dot Semmler and Jan Fitzpatrick defeated Joan Arnold, who scored a resting toucher, and Jan Carroll 14-12. The monthly meeting and annual general meeting will be held after play this Thursday.
