In a low-scoring game, Mary Payten and Hilary Chambers defeated Joan Lloyd and Jan Walker 13-12.
Payten and Chambers got off to a slow start, but was only one behind on the ninth end.
After scoring three shots, Payten and Chambers were in front by two.
Lloyd and Walker bounced back to be leading by one shot on the 17th end, only to lose by two on the last end.
In a thrilling game of pairs, Janet Bell and Faye Harris defeated Denise Naylor and Marika Pete 18-17.
IN OTHER NEWS:
It was neck-and-neck with the lead changing many times.
The score was even on the 14th when Naylor prevented Bell from scoring even shots, only allowing her one.
The game ended in a draw resulting in an extra deciding end to be played, which was won by Bell and Harris.
The drawn winners were Janet Bell and Faye Harris, who also scored a resting toucher, along with Lorraine Mullins.
Eight Players enjoyed two games of social pairs.
Elaine Sullivan and Joan Bourke defeated Dot Semmler and Lorraine Messner 19-10, while Judy Heness and Patti Wakeman accounted for Lorraine Mullins and Jean Leighton 26-16.
The annual general meeting was held with the residing office bearers remaining, except the match committee, where four new members have taken up positions. The next monthly meeting will be held on August 26.
