When the Riverina - and large parts of regional NSW - came out of lockdown over the weekend, a number of updated rules around face mask wearing were introduced.

As of Saturday, September 11, face masks remain mandatory for all indoor, non-residential venues.
This includes public transport, front-of-house hospitality, retail and business premises, on planes and at airports.
Masks are also mandatory at indoor workplaces, such as an office, in public transport waiting areas, and for gym, dance or group class activities of five or more people.
IN OTHER NEWS:
The only people still required to wear a face mask when outdoors are hospitality staff.
Additionally, children under 12 do not need to wear a mask indoors.
People are not required to wear a mask when:
- eating or drinking
- doing strenuous exercise
- communicating with a person who is deaf or hard of hearing
- at school as a student
- engaging in some type of work where you need to see a person's mouth
- requested to remove your mask as part of a security check
- at a correctional centre, place of custody, or hospital as a patient
- a resident at an aged care facility
- a guest in a hotel/motel room and in your room
- in the process of getting married
- working alone in an office (until another person enters)
- in a vehicle alone or with another person from your household
The Riverina become one of many regional centres removed from the statewide, COVID-19 lockdown over the weekend after it was deemed a low-risk area.
Low-risk areas includes locations that have had zero COVID cases for at least 14 days.
The lifting of stay-at-home orders was announced by the Premier last Thursday, as well as the NSW roadmap to reopening once the state's double-dose vaccination rate hits 70 per cent.
For areas where the lockdown was lifted there are increased freedoms, however a number of restrictions remain in place.
